Punkeydoodle’s Corner is a small hamlet with many claims to fame, not the least of which is its location at the intersection of Oxford, Perth and Waterloo County. Over the years, the name has been a constant source of interest, with articles being written by newspapers and journals across the country, including National Geographic. In the end, the origin of the name remains wrapped in mystery. Or does it? Taking a look at four of the stories behind the name, Alayne went back to look at the people living in the community in the early years. Journey with her, as we learn about the Swiss-German community surrounding Punkeydoodle’s Corner, in the hopes of learning the truth behind the community’s name.
